    Lena Burbulla receives award for Parkinson's research

    Lena Burbulla has received the 2023 Parkinson's Prize of the Dr. Friedrich Wilhelm and Dr. Isolde Dingebauer Foundation for her research into the molecular basis of Parkinson's disease and innovative therapeutic approaches. The prize, which is awarded by the German Society of Neurology, has been awarded since 2002 for outstanding scientific achievements in research into Parkinson's disease and other neurodegenerative diseases. more

    Matteo Rovere is admitted as a doctoral researcher at the Hector Fellow Academy

    Matteo Rovere has been selected as one of the three doctoral positions funded by the Hector Fellow Academy this year. Matteo works in the laboratory of newly minted Hector Fellow Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Christian Haass, where he is investigating the role of the ABI3 gene in Alzheimer’s disease. He is also a student in the Graduate School of Systemic Neurosciences. more

    Lena Burbulla receives funding of >0.5 million euros from the Boehringer Ingelheim Foundation

    SyNergy member Lena Burbulla is selected for the Rise Up! Programme of the Boehringer Ingelheim Foundation. The program supports outstanding and unusually creative fundamental research in biology, chemistry, and medicine and is aimed at researchers who have accepted their first appointment as an associate professor at a German university. Lena will receive funding of more than 0.5 million euros to advance her research program investigating underlying molecular mechanisms of Parkinson’s disease. more
