Charles Weissmann – guest speaker of the SFB 596 graduate program seminar series

We were very glad to welcome Prof. Dr. Charles Weissmann from The Scripps Research Institute Florida as a guest speaker in our Graduate Seminar Series. Charles Weissmann gave a fascinating talk entitled “Evolution of prions in cell culture” addressing basic prion pathology as well as recent findings from his laboratory. After the talk the PhD students continued discussion with Charles Weissmann – this time at Christian Haass’ house, for what was a good combination of scientific discussion and an enjoyable dinner party.
